It doesn't have a lot of weird terminology or promise to "reinvent story telling", does it?
Nope and nope.
Power Writer starts with some pretty standard terminology like Character Arcs and Story Themes, but if you want, you can completely change the terminology it uses to the ones you use. Change Antagonist to Obstacle Character, Plot Point to Story Beat or whatever else you might want.
And as to "reinventing story telling" Power Writer doesn't promote any one specific theory of story telling or dramatic structure -- what it does do, is give you the tools to make the best use of virtually any theory or method of story telling you want.
